Direct Piling have recently undertaken a new build agricultural project in which foundation ground beams where installed with holding down bolts for the steel portal frame and a two way spanning suspended RC Raft were constructed. The very accessible site allowed for a quick installation time with the whole project being completed within 2 working weeks. Direct Piling first completed the strip mass fill foundations setting in the holding down bolts to the steel frame suppliers specification followed immediately on with the reinforcement and shuttering for the RC Raft. The photo herein shows the moments before the concrete pour commenced with the concrete boom pump positioned ready for the concrete to be pumped from the nearby access road. The 130 cubic meters of concrete were completed in just over a morning and then power float finished late into the night – keeping the nearby cows awake I’m sure!
